Obituary
Nancy Sue (Shelton) Lasater, age 67, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on February 4, 2019, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Nancy was born on January 28, 1952, in Raytown, Missouri. She was the daughter of Herbert Tyler Shelton Jr. (Bud) and Jennie Isabelle Keating. A devoted follower of Christ, Nancy lived her life to worship her heavenly Father. She was the first in her family to receive Christ, and the catalyst for the rest to follow. Nancy knew the best way to raise her eight children, that involved home schooling for twenty-seven years. Nancy loved to travel, especially visiting new places. She traveled to Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, South Africa, Mexico, Honduras, Chile, Mozambique, Brazil, Aruba, St. Croix, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman Islands, and most of the United States. A large portion of the places she visited were part of mission trips. She had a heart to serve others. Nancy was obsessed with turtles and elephants. She would collect and display them all over her house. She also has pictures of her family everywhere you look throughout her home. Her family was truly the most important part of her world. It was so important that Nancy and her husband Rod adopted two children from Russia. Nancy had more love to give. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed watching and playing with her ten grandchildren. These children were the highlight of her life. She was also an avid reader and movie enthusiast. She always had a recommendation for a movie or TV show to share and welcomed recommendations from her friends and family. Nancy hated to cook, but she always came up with unique and healthy recipes to feed her eight children and husband. Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Alexander Lasater. Nancy is survived by her husband of forty years, Rodney Allen Lasater; five sons, Chad I. Lake (Sunny), Elijah S. Lasater (Patricia), Luke A. Lasater (Andrea), Silas M. Lasater (Jaycee), Micah D. Lasater; two daughters, Anna N. Lasater and Abigail G. Boenker (Pete); brothers, James R. Shelton, Steven K. Shelton (Janice), and Michael P. Keating (Christina); sister, Tracy A. Oliver; ten grandchildren, Liam, Ella, Chase, Elijah, Libby, Christian, Sean, Remington, Norah, and Wesley. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
