Obituary for Nancy K. Gale

 United States

  • Date Of Death: June 29, 2013
  • State: Maryland

Nancy Anne Kennedy Gale, 80, passed away suddenly on June 29, 2013 from an automobile accident. She enjoyed a full and active life until the moment she met the Lord.

Born on May 14, 1933 in Salisbury, MD, Nancy was the daughter of Howard and Mary Kennedy of Chincoteague, VA. She called both Cambridge and Chincoteague home throughout her life. Nancy graduated from Cambridge High School in 1951 as the first class to complete 12 grades instead of 11. She worked as a bookkeeper, church secretary for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and at the Dorchester Board of Education. She retired from there in 1997 after 16 years of service. She received many accolades for her efficient and tireless work ethic. She cherished the friends she made there.

She was a faithful Christian and a life-long member of St. Paul’s. She served the Lord and volunteered her time in so many capacities including the Altar Guild, but she was always proudest of her instrumental involvement in founding the annual Flower Fair. Her creations were always a treat at Soup Day and she could lead a Mary Circle Meeting or Sunday Class like nobody’s business. In her retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed giving her time, over 3000 hours, at the Dorchester General Hospital gift shop as part of her longstanding service in the Hospital Auxiliary. She served on its board in many capacities. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 2000.
