Nancy Ann Lewis, 84, of Portland passed away on October 20, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Portland on August 15, 1931 the daughter of the late John and Evelyn (Staples) Geason. She attended schools in Portland including St. Joseph’s Academy and Portland High School graduating with the class of 1949.

He past jobs include Peacock Canning and later in life as a cook at St. Joseph’s Manor and Mercy Hospital. She was a renowned cook, known for her chili and beef stew among other things. She was also an avid Red Sox fan with her favorite players being “Yaz” and “Pudge” Fisk. She also had a love of Irish music, especially, Ruby Murray. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Lewis and by two sons, Stephen O’Brien and Christopher Michael O’Brien.

Family members include a son, Keith Lewis and his fiancée, Renee Tetreau, 3 grandchildren, Kristina O’Brien, Casey O’Brien and Ashlynn Lewis, and a daughter – in-law, Brenda O’Brien. She is also survived by a close family friend, Steve Howell and a lifelong best friend, Ann Dillon.
