Myrleen Cummings Boudousquie was born on February 18,1927 in Fulton, MS to Homer and Georgia Cummings.
She grew up in Newelton, LA, graduating from Central High School in Jackson, MS. She attended Mississippi University for Women, Millsaps College, and Jackson Commercial College where she met her husband to be.
She worked at the MS State Rating Bureau and received her insurance license in 1953. She retired from working over 35 years from Noble and Fortenberry Insurance and Real Estate in Canton, MS where she was a bookkeeper, customer representative and auto insurance underwriter.
Myrleen was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Ingram Elmo (Buddy) Boudousquie and her son, Jerry Boudousquie of Long Beach, MS.
Myrleen was an only child and prayed for a large family, which she had, and lived in Canton, MS for 40 years. She is survived by her children, Jean Warrington (Allen) of Kosciusko, MS, Barbara Metcalfe of Flowood, MS and Renee Waits (Billy) of Mount Juliet, TN.; grandchildren, Allen Warrington Jr. (J.J.) of Kosciusko, MS; Laurie Warrington Fleming (Josh) of Jackson, MS; Michael Boudousquie of Meridian, MS; Jaimie Boudousquie of Brookhaven, MS; Whitney Waits Wall (Jackson) of Raleigh, NC; Emily Waits Windham (Brennon) of Mobile,AL and James Metcalfe of Flowood, MS; great grandchildren, Conner and Zoe Boudousquie of Starkville, MS, Harvey and Hazel Warrington of Kosciusko,MS and Garrett Fleming of Jackson, MS.
Myrleen will be fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her. She had a heart of giving and lived each day always thinking of others. Wherever she lived, she made sure to join and be involved in a church. She was a member of Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton for 30 years where she served as Church Clerk, director of the senior group, “The Happy Bunch” and sang in the choir. After retirement, she moved to Hattiesburg,MS and joined 38th Avenue Baptist Church in 1999. She was active in Sunday School and the senior group, “Young at Heart”. In 2014 she moved to Long Beach, MS to live with her daughter, Renee and was a member of North Long Beach Baptist Church. In 2017 she moved to Mount Juliet, TN with her daughter, Renee and watched Woodmont Baptist Church in Nashville, TN on television every Sunday. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Everyone she met knew she had a sweet spirit and beautiful soul.
