Xanaka R. Hill Burgess was born on January 15, 1979 to Douglas and Lula Hill in Oxford Mississippi.
Xanaka acknowledged her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Rivers Hill Church of Christ and remained a faithful member until her death.
She graduated from Oxford High School in 1997 and attended the University of Mississippi. While attending Ole Miss, Xanaka met the love of her life and on April 5, 2005 she married Derrick Burgess.
Xanaka was a full time housewife, loved her family, and life. She was a fun-loving person who never met a stranger and was known to some as the “Country Diva.”
Precious memories of Xanaka will live on and be celebrated by her husband, Derrick Burgess, Sr. two daughters, Xalin and Xhiir “Boosie” , a son, Derrick, Jr., parents, Douglas and Lula Hill, six sisters, Gwen Jackson of Memphis, TN, Joan (Kalvin) Wilkins of Tampa, FL, Vandemyer Williams and Dona Gipson of Oxford, MS, Ashley (Taj) Colom of Tiplersville, MS, Akilah (Jimmy) Stokes of Horn Lake, MS, three brothers, Aundrey (Carolyn) Hill of Oxford, MS, Dureya (Tylana) Hill of Orlando, FL, and Kelvin Hill of Oxford, MS, mother-in-law, Priscilla Burgess, father-in-law, Ayesha Burgess, special friends, Taneeah “Nikki” Hilliard, Sharonda Certion, Beth Grant-Singletary, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
