Mr. Willie David Grady, 63, was born October 2, 1953 to the late John Bunrage Grady (Jack) and Johnnie Gussie Cole (Mamie) in Kemper County, MS. He was the 7th of eight children.
Willie left Kemper County as a young man and moved to Davenport, Iowa, where he lived for many years. He later returned to Mississippi making his home in Oxford. Willie loved to dance and to wear a watch. He was a quiet man with a kind heart, big voice and easy going spirit. Known simply as “L” by his family and friends. He was “Uncle Bud” to his nieces and nephews. But no matter what he was called by, he will be missed just the same by all. Willie passed away peacefully on July 31, 2017, at his home in Oxford, MS.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Mamie; two sisters: Callie Ivy and Elouise Peden; one brother: Lonon B. Grady and two step daughters: Barbara Pearson and Joyce Pearson.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: his wife Roxy Grady of Oxford, MS; his step children: Brenda Williams (Jesse), Carolyn Morgan (Joe), and Renita Rogers (Demetrius); two sisters: Lizzie Kirk of Davenport, IA, Flora Grady of Des Moines, IA; two brothers: John Jake “Pete” Grady (Ola Mae) of DeKalb, MS, Jack (June) Grady, Jr. of Des Moines, IA; one brother-in-law: Milton Peden of Preston, MS; thirteen step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special son-in-law: Ervin Campbell. .
