James Hampton, 61, of Lamar, MS was born January 29, 1956 in Michigan City, MS to the late Mrs. Frankie Mae and John Henry Spencer (stepfather) and the late Mr. William (Pay) Harvey (biological father). He attended school throughout the Benton County area. He worked at Biltrite Corporation for over 30 years until he retired in 2001. He passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home in Lamar, MS.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Mrs. Vera D. Hampton of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Cartina Hampton (JT), of Southaven, MS, Tara Hampton (Payton), of Lamar, MS, Trenise Hampton of Griffin, GA; two sons: Torrice Hampton (Ladale) and Sedrick Hampton both of Lamar, MS; five brothers, Johnny Hampton, Walter L. Hampton (Ethel) Willie E. Hampton (Geneva), John Henry Spencer, and Lonnie Spencer; two sisters: Brenda Brown (Terry) and Cindy Ayers; thirteen grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. To his “Fatboy” Terreon and Taija, you were the center of his heart.
