Mr. Gary Darnell Blackmon was born on Aprit 10, 1963 in Oxford, MS to Marie Blackmon and the late Willie Jean Buford. He accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at an early age and united with Smith Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where he remained until death. Gary attended Lafayette High School and befriended everyone he came in contact with. Gary met and was later united in holy matrimony to Diane Williams June 13, 2006. No children were born to this union. Gary enjoyed playing the drums at Smith Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and for the Gospel Stars. He was a painter, gardener, plumber, and anything that needed to be done for family and friends, he did it. He was preceded in death by his father Willie Jean Buford, his grandparents; Charlie and Cara Btackmon, and Robert Earl and lrene Pegues. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother Marie Blackmon and stepfather; Eugene “Buck” Gable of 0xford, MS, children; Anthony LaDaven Hilliard of 0xford, MS, Ebony Chernique McEwen of 0live Branch, MS, Telisha Michelle Rose and Ge’Varick Quantrell McEwen both of 0xford, MS, grandchildren; Akevia Hilliard, and Coby Hilliard both of 0xford, MS, brothers; Greg Campbell of San Jose, CA, Alarick (Tonya) Gable of Abbeville, MS, sisters; Mary Stewart of 0xford, MS, Wanda Joyce Morris of Memphis, TN, Shonte Washington of Holly Springs, MS, Alicia Mclntosh of Etta, MS, Tonya “Cat” Adams of 0xford, MS, Sherry Jones of Memphis, TN, two adopted sisters; LaCresha Gable and Cornae “Blue” Harden and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and two very special friends; Raymond 0wens and Bruce Edward “Hagen” lsom.
