Arthur Carl “Deeda” Pettis was born on the 7th day of February 1951 to Mable Green Pettis and the late Teldo Pettis. Sr. One brother, Archie Black, Sr. preceded him in death.
Arthur accepted Jesus at an early age where he joined the Tobby Tubby M.B. Church and remained until his death. He attended the Bethlehem M.B. Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
Arthur attended Lafayette County Schools. He studied the mechanic trade in the Job Corps. He worked and loved his lifelong career as a truck driver and remained a dedicated driver until his health failed him.
