Mother Renell Fitzpatrick Hughes was born June 29, 1935 in Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi to the late Robert L. Fitzpatrick and Annie Bell Smith.
Renell accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She was a dedicated member of Concord Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board until she became ill.
Renell was a loyal and faithful employee of Hart’s Furniture Manufacturing Company in Collierville, TN for fifteen years. She worked as a private home worker for Mrs. Cathy Crawford for many years until she retired.
She leaves to cherish her memory nine children: Hattie Jean Briggs of Memphis, TN, Lorenzo Hughes (Suki) of Hinesville, GA, Lee Earl Hughes (Carolyn) of Deridder, LA, JoAnn Jones, Lee Andrew Jeff Hughes, Teresa Hughes and Dianne Hughes all of Slayden, MS, Jimmy Hughes (Glenda) of Holly Springs, MS and Keith Hughes (Tycin) of Houston, TX, one brother: Robert L. Fitzpatrick, Jr. of Memphis, TN, one sister: Ida Bell Thomas of Memphis, TN, one aunt: Christine Fitzpatrick of Slayden, MS, twenty grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two great-grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother: John Lee Fitzpatrick.
