Bernice remained a faithful member of North Hopewell until God called her home.
Ms. Bernice, as she was so lovingly called, was a true educator and she inspired so many others to be successful. She loved Christian Education and she encouraged others to become leaders, teachers and missionaries within the realms of Christian Studies. Ms. Bernice was a faithful member of the Tallahatchie Oxford Missionary Baptist Association, where she served as Woman’s Auxiliary president for 22 years; the T.O.M.B. She was a bookkeeper for her husband’s company for many years, a seamstress, a baker, and a childcare provider for many people in the Oxford area. She stayed busy every day keeping children for anyone who needed her. She often said, “I am still needed, that’s why God has left me here.” She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, entire church family, friends and all she met. When she was told, “I love you.” She was always quick to respond, “I love you more.” She was a passionate and inspiring Woman of God.
