Milton G. “Jerry” Duell passed away on October 15, 2011 at home in Ionia. He was born on March 8, 1924 in Hastings, MI to Hollis P. and Pauline (Gazella) Duell. Jerry graduated from Ss. Peter and Paul School in 1942. He entered th U.S. Navy out of High School from 1942-1948. Jerry worked for the Dept. of Mental Health-Ionia State Hospital until his retirement in 1983. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting out west during the 1950’s – 1970’s. Lately he enjoyed his time with friends at the local coffee shops. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Marjorie; son, Mathew; his parents; brothers, Hollis, Jr. and Raymond; sisters Navine and Monica. Jerry is survived by his 5 children Kathy (Terry) Donavon, Tony (Ruth Ann) Wawigrnia, Randy (Tracy) Duell, Jeff (Tammy) Duell, and Kellie (Jack) Jeppesen; 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Joyce) Duell; sister Maxine Page.
