Age 66, received his eagles wings on Saturday April 25, 2009. He was the son of Charles and Genevieve (Kennedy) Lewis and both preceded him in death. Michael was a1960 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids and received a Culinary Arts degree from Northwood Institute in West Baden, IN. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy serving from 1960-1964. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Grand Rapids and a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gayle (Vidro) Lewis; his son, Myron (Lisa) Lewis of Bloomington, IN; his daughters, Maria (Tim) Blackmer of Ionia, Janine (Mark) Taylor of Milford, KS and Highland Park, NY and Yolanda (Gregory) Hardison of Webster Groves, MO; grandchildren Nicholas, Rachael and Hunter Blackmer, Hanna and Sydney Lewis, Grace and Wickham Hardison; brothers, Charles (Carla) Lewis, Kenneth (Pat) Lewis and Patrick (Karen) Lewis; sisters, Rosalie “Pink” (Ron) Wesorick, Dorothy “Dot” (Juris) Didrichsons, and Anne (Jake) Spruit; many nieces and nephews.
