Michael John Jegla, of Westphalia, passed away at home on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born on September 6, 1954, the son of Robert and Artis (Pinkney) Jegla. Mike graduated from Pewamo-Westphalia High School Class of 1972. After high school, Mike began his extensive professional painting career, he owned and operated Country Painters for more than 43 years. Not only was Mike a wonderful painter, but he was handy in many aspects around the house. Mike was happiest when he was outdoors- he loved the Upper Peninsula, hunting deer and coyote, and fishing. On September 14, 1996, Mike married his beloved wife, Sharon (Goodman) at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston. He also loved his family and his dogs and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Mike in death are his parents; brothers, Larry and Kevin Jegla; and sister-in-law, Gail Jegla. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Sharon Jegla; siblings, Dan (Sharon) Jegla, Annette Jegla, Dennis (Shelly) Jegla, Mary Jo (Mike) Plunkett, and Richard Jegla; many special nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Ace and Rocky.
