Bath – Michael H. Dodge4, 74, of Bath passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Winship Green. He was born in Brunswick on January 4, 1942, the son of Howard and Grace (Lucariello) Dodge. He grew up in Bath and graduated from Morse High School, where he was a member of the football team. After graduation in 1960, Michael joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country.
Mike was employed as a cook at the Chuck Wagon in his early years. He was then employed at Wright & Pierce as a Designer and then at Bath Iron Works as a Designer, retiring after many loyal years of service. He was also a member of the BMDA Union.
Michael recently celebrated his 25th year of sobriety, with AA and Friends of Bill, a group that he was very proud of and happy that he had the opportunity to work with and help others.
In his younger days, Michael was an avid photographer, and had a passion for the outdoors. He always looked forward to camping at Baxter State Park. He also spent a considerable amount of time as a Boy Scout Leader. Being an avid hunter and fisherman, he had a lot of knowledge to teach the boys about the wilderness.
Michael was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Bath, an active communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the American Legion.
He was predeceased by a brother, David; and a sister, Patricia Finn.
He leaves behind a brother, Dennis Dodge of Hampton, NH; a brother-in-law, Charles Finn of Bath; and several nieces and nephews.
