Michael A. Stolte, 95 of South Amboy, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Born in South Amboy, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Stolte, and lived there all of his life. Before his retirement, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad in New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, in South Amboy. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Bernadette Council 8478, in Parlin, New Jersey, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4699 in Sayreville, New Jersey. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Pfc Vernon Stolte and John Stolte. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ethel May Chapman Stolte; his sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Barbara Stolte of Monroe, New Jersey, and Michael Jr. and Laura Stolte of Lawrenceburg, TN; his daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Ronald Edwards of Nokesville, Virginia; his sisters, June O’Leary and Florence McCarthy of South Amboy, New Jersey; his brothers, Armand Stolte of Milltown, New Jersey, and Bobby Tibbets of Bristol Mills; as well as 7 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
