Age 83, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 24, 2005. He was born on January 3, 1922 in Mills Twp., MI the son of Peter and Edna (Thompson) Hartwick. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Alton, Orville (Francine) and Theron (Donna), brother-in-law, Berle Barrus, daughter, Janelle Hartwick and great grandaughter Kaitlin Elaine Huff. He will never be forgotten and always be loved. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Jeanette; 6 children, Noble (Rosemary) Hartwick, Lana (Faro) Gervasi, Doris (Bob) Urie, Elaine (Larry) Gilmore, Lane (Bonnie) Hartwick, and Pete (Lisa) Hartwick; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Irene Barrus; many nieces and nephews. Melvin bulit many things including a great, strong family that he loved with all his heart. We will never forget all the great things he taught us. Loved and never forgotten.
