Mell Albert Scrivner was born February 23, 1925 in Truman, AR, to the late Robert and Lydia Scrivner. He entered eternal life on December 1, 2012, in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 87. On August 12, 1950, Mell was united in marriage to Marceline B. Housewright of Steelville, MO. They enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage together until her passing.
Mell was a career military man serving in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army retiring from the U.S. Airforce December 1, 1970. Both he and Marceline traveled the world together.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marceline B. Scrivner; one son Robert A. Scrivner; sister Mary E. Reese; sisters in-law Rosalea Greathouse and Kathleen Burch; and brothers in-law Robert G. Housewright and Charles Lee Housewright.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are daughter-in-law Janice Scrivner of AZ; nieces Barbara Crow of FL, Paula Crews of Vichy, MO, Lillian Greathouse of Charleston, IL, Denise Fogles and Lisa Brady and Kim Rickman all of Mechanicsville, MD; nephews Paul Tinker of Seattle, WA, Jeffery Reese of CA, Kenneth Parrett of Jefferson City, MO, Kenneth Housewright of Mechanicsville, MD and Paul Greathouse of Steelville, MO; other relatives and friends.
The Family received friends from 11:00 a.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were John Williams, Tom Crews, Rob Housewright, Blake Housewright, Wesley Greathouse, Charles Knapp and Ken Parrett.
