Max Pitts was born on February 11, 1934 in Clifton, Tennessee to his parents: Lee Soloman and Irene (Richardson) Pitts. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Curry on October 18, 1952 in Holly, Michigan.

Max Pitts was an officer in Knights of Columbus and St. James Lions Club since 1996. He delivered meals for the Golden Age Center; was a member of the Bee Keepers Association; and on the church finance committee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Max will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Max Pitts is survived by his loving wife of the home: Betty Jo Pitts of St. James, Mo.; one daughter: Rose Marie Harber and husband Thurman of Monroe, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law: Denise Pitts of Florida; two brothers: Charles Pitts of Michigan; and Michael Pitts of Holly, Michigan; two sisters: Jo Bishop and husband Jonas of Tennessee; and Cindy Lyne and husband Randal of Fowlerville, Michigan; along with eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Preceding Max Pitts in death is his parents: Lee Soloman and Irene (Richardson) Pitts; one son: Thomas Lee Pitts; and one brother: Robert Pitts.
