Maurice H. Unger, 84, of New Haven, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Mr. Unger was born on the home place in New Haven, Missouri on August 3, 1931, the son of the late Alfred and Amanda (Berghorn) Unger.
He was the husband of Hope (Drewel) Unger. They were married July 18, 1950 at Union, Missouri. Hope survives at the home.
Maurice is also survived by two sons, Lowell Unger & his partner David Kessel of Maryland Heights, Missouri and Loren Unger & wife Tonia of Berger, by two daughters, Cindy Pointer & husband Mike of New Haven and Mona Unger of Bland, Missouri, by a sister Darlene Buenemann of New Haven, by a brother Donald Unger & wife Evelyn of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, by two daughters-in-law Elaine Unger and Sonja Unger both of New Haven, by two sisters-in-law Lola Mann of Fort Worth, Texas and Rosella Unger of Mexico, Missouri, by a brother-in-law Wilbert Scheer of New Haven, by his grandsons Cody, Robert, Dustin, Jeremy & Brent Unger, Joseph Easter and Andrew Pointer, by 16 great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, by three sons, Daniel, Michael & Timothy Unger, a granddaughter Kayla Pointer and a brother Russell Unger.
Maurice was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, New Haven, Missouri and was very active in 4-H with his children when they were younger. He was a dairy farmer his whole life. He also worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis for 25 years and had a senior citizen transportation service for many years.
