Maudie Fay Coleman, 82, of Davisville passed from this earthly home on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Salem Memorial Hospital in Salem.

She was born Sunday, March 29, 1925 in Sligo, Missouri, the daughter of Marion F. and Nellie May (Mitchell) Swyers. Maudie was united in marriage to John W. Coleman on June 19, 1943 and to this union three sons and three daughters were born. John and Maudie enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage before his death on October 20, 2001.

Among those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons, Tom Coleman and wife Pam of Davisville, Missouri and Otis Coleman and wife Sherri of Dillard, Missouri; one daughter, Lila Meredith and husband Red of Affton, Missouri; one son-in-law Jim Bobbitt of Salem, Missouri; a grandson that was raised as a son, John B. Halbert and wife Teresa of Davisville, Missouri; eleven additional grandchildren, Rick Halbert and wife Kendra, Lila Halbert, Frannie Evans and husband Daniel, Bud Adams and wife Vicky, Wes Bobbitt and wife Joni, Jessica Coleman, Julie Coleman, Tommy John Coleman, Tera Coleman, Donna Dugal and husband Eric, and Mariah Coleman; 17 great-grandchildren, John, Jake, and Katie Halbert, Frannie, Alli, and Jeremiah Halbert, Megan Weaver, Andrew and Savannah Evans, Zach, Toni, Brandon and Hannah Adams, Micah and Bryar Bobbitt, William Otis and Keersten Dugal. Maudie was preceded in death by one son, John Rodney Coleman; two daughters, Frances Nell Coleman and Margie Bobbitt; four brothers, Clifford, Ernest, Burl, and Marion Swyers; and five sisters, Thelma McCommis, Lula Castella, Ruby Coleman, Ida Jane Jones, and Claira Courtney.

Maudie’s life centered on her family and working along side her husband on the farm. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
