Mary “Mae” Matildia Lacy, nee Goodson, of Steelville, MO passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Phelps County Hospital in Rolla, MO at the age of ninety-seven. She was born March 24, 1914 in Piedmont, MO to Wilford Goodson and Etta Fears Goodson. In December of 1929 in Van Buren, MO, she was united in marriage to Jessie Lyman Santhuff and to this union seven children were born. She later married Lindell Lacy in 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1961.
Mae was a member of the Steelville Assembly of God Church and very involved when her health permitted. She was always a dedicated mother taking care of her family.
She will be sadly missed by two sons Bob Santhuff of Steelville, MO and Ronnie Santhuff of Sinton, TX; three daughters Joyce Bouse of Steelville, MO, Delores Goad and husband Don of Cedar Hill, MO and Loretta Anderson of Rolla, MO; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Pat Santhuff of Piedmont, MO; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lindell; one son Bill Santhuff; one daughter Shirley Faye Monroe and husband Lyman Jr.; five brothers Sam, Loren, Lloyd, Luther and Julius Goodson; grandson Kirk Monroe; great-grandson Jacob Turnbough; one daughter-in-law Lelah Santhuff; and son-in-law Ron Bouse.
The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were Don Santhuff, John Santhuff, Billy Santhuff, Bruce Goad, Eddie Ackerman, Rick Bouse, Brock Bouse and Jeff Johnson. Honorary casket bearers were Frank Counts, Mike Horhong, Steve Weeks, Matt Williams, Don Reynolds and Jacob Field.
