Mary Louise Schmitz, age 86, was called home to be with Our Heavenly Father on December 18, 2022.
She is preceded by her husband of 61 years, Donald Frederick Schmitz, and daughter, Linda Bradley. Mary Louise is survived by her children, Dale (Faye), (Terry, Celia Bradley), Steven (Cindy), Karen (John Seefeldt), William (Tracy), and Anne (Jeff Branch); her thirteen grandchildren, Emily, Diana, Donald, JC, Jennifer, Kaitlin, Robert, Evan, Kyle, Jacob, Bailey, Michael, and Ashley; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mary Louise was born to Myron and Estella Schafer of Pewamo. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Westphalia, Michigan, the E.W. Sparrow Auxiliary, and volunteered at St. Mary’s Church, and St. Vincent de Paul. She was a woman with unwavering faith who loved her family profoundly and never missed an opportunity to appreciate the blessings of nature and life. To know Mary Louise was to know joy. Her happiness was consistent and beautiful like her beloved sunsets.
