Mrs. Louise Mullinix, age 95, of Damascus, Maryland died peacefully at her home on Friday, February 23, 2018. She was the wife of Robert Mullinix her beloved husband of 71 years.
Born December 21, 1922, near Libertytown, she was a daughter of the late George Norman Stevens and Helen Joy Stevens.
Mrs. Mullinix worked in the Damascus High School Cafeteria for thirty years, retiring in 1988. She was an outstanding cook and baker, and will be remembered for her delicious cakes, pies and brownies.
Louise was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Damascus and a member of the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was also an Honorary Life Member of the Damascus American Legion Auxiliary Post 171, and a charter member of the Damascus Travel Club.
Louise was a friendly person who enjoyed people. She liked working in her kitchen, reading novels and doing word puzzles. In earlier years she and her husband loved traveling throughout the USA with friends in the Damascus Travel Club.
In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Leishear of Damascus, two grand-daughters, Robin Skinner and husband Chris of Damascus, and Cheryl Beasley and husband Lance of Greenbelt, and two great-grandsons Logan Beasley and Lincoln Beasley. She is also survived by three sisters, Catherine VanSant, and Rosie Ecker, both of Libertytown, and Helen Young of Taneytown, one brother Edward Stevens of Libertytown, and many nieces and nephews.
Louise is preceded in death by sisters Elizabeth Keilholtz, Patricia Baust, and Virginia Stine, and brothers George Stevens, Robert Stevens, and James Stevens.
