Mary Belle (Lint) Brown, a long-time resident of the Lansing area died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Medilodge of Howell.
Mary was born in 1929 in Orangeville, Ontario. She lived in Michigan for most of her life, but also lived in Colorado and North Carolina. Mary grew up in the towns of Lowell, Saranac, and Ionia, and graduated from Ionia High School in the class of 1947.
Mary was a lifelong learner, and was proud of her ministerial diploma from Anchor Bay Bible College, her nursing degree from Lansing Community College, and her business degree from Lansing Community College.
Mary wrote many songs and poems. She was a published author, with “The Heart of Mary”, a collection of her poetry and writings, being one of her favorite works. Mary enjoyed music and had a lovely singing voice.
Mary enjoyed traveling, especially road trips to Florida with her husband Jesse Brown. Mary was also a big fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings, and followed both teams closely.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Viola Lint, brothers, John Lint and Roland Lint, sisters, Beulah Curtiss and Margaret Miller, and husband, Jesse. Mary was the last of the Lint children and is now enjoying a reunion with her family.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Patti Jo Simmons, grandchildren, Joshua Fitzgerald and Sara Fitzgerald, and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
