Mary Jane Tate Harnage, age 86, passed away August 31, 2021 in her home in Pascagoula, MS.
She was born September 25, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri, graduated from Richmond Union High School, Richmond, California, and was married October 25, 1953. She devoted her life to her husband and family while also working with children in Fremont, California elementary schools as a Librarian, and as a substitute Librarian and Instructional Aide for the Pascagoula Unified School District. A member of Midway United Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading, square dancing, art, and craft-making.
She was a little lady with a big heart, known for her vivacious, friendly and generous personality. She loved babies, adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cherished her three children, and was the anchor of her family. And above all she loved with the greatest pride and passion of her heart her husband of nearly 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother Emma Lucille Woods Tate DeLong and her fathers Joseph Tate and Hershel DeLong. She is survived by her beloved husband Nolan Harnage, her son Richard Harnage, daughters Sandra Bosarge (Steve) and Barbara Bennett (Brad); grandchildren Leann Bosarge (Joey Foots), Jim Bennett (Jade), Katy Bennett, Kelly Harnage, Wayne Goodwin (Melanie), Stephanie Bosarge (Nat Duvall), Dr. Jessica Taylor (John Paul), Jody Wells (Dr. Devin Wells), and Chance Harnage; and twelve beautiful great grandchildren.
