Mrs. Matthai was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lansing, Michigan. Mary was raised on a farm in the Upper Peninsula, and graduated from high school in Engadine, Michigan. She married Henry Matthai on August 31, 1946 in Engadine, Michigan, and together they shared 68 years of marriage. Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, Alexander (Hazel) Meyer, Katie (Donald) Blake, Rose (Alexander) Beisel, Esther (Daniel) Fuller, and Edwin Meyer; brother-in-law, Bill Markwart; mother-in-law, Herta Matthai; sister-in-law, Erna Matthai. Surviving are her husband, Henry Matthai; daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Konarska; grandchildren, Keri (Chris) Blough, and Mark (Lindsey) Konarska; great grandson, Camden Konarska; siblings, Lydia Markwart, Erwin (Frances) Meyer, and Robert (Cara) Meyer; sister-in-law, Donna Meyer; many nieces, nephews, and the Konarska family.
