Mary was born May 5, 1927, in Portland, daughter of the late Paul and Leora (Stetson) Conroy. She attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1945. While raising her three children, she volunteered at the Longfellow School and St. Josephs Church before working for the City of Portland in the Assessor’s Department, retiring as office manager in 1993.
