Brickley, Mary Florence
Age 45, of Long Lake, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones, August 27th, 2013 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. Graduate of Orono High School Class of 1986. She earned an accounting degree from UW-River Falls and was a realtor with REMAX Advantage Plus. Mary dedicated her time to charitable causes as a volunteer at Angels Attic/ Angels Foundation. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her spirit lives within the hearts of those who knew her. Mary loved life and she lived it to the fullest. She found something special in everyone and everything. Her smile was infectious. She enjoyed antiquing with her Mom and her collections are amazing. Counted cross stitch, another passion. Mary loved traveling. She took many trips with Scott to California, Florida and to his hometown Winthrop, Iowa. She also traveled to Jamaica and Mexico with her sister Kathy, and family. She had a passion for cooking and baking. Chocolate chip cookies were her specialty, which her Dad could never get enough of. Christmas cookie baking was always a thrill, l with her Mom sisters and nieces. A computer whiz, Mary helped us all keep our TV’s, remotes, and computers running smoothly. Working for Remax and her special clients gave her great pleasure. Always wanting to find the right home for everyone Her nieces and nephews were all so special to her, especially the youngest, Jack and Justin.
Before she passed, her great niece Alli (10) said when she kissed her goodbye, “The world won’t be the same without you.” Mary passed with her family surrounding her in her own home to the song “Clouds” by Zach Sobiech. We know she is in heaven and she will be with us forever. Special thanks to the wonderful Dr.’s and nurses who cared for Mary as well as the entire Allina hospice team. They made this journey less difficult for all of us.
Survived by the love of her life, Scott Schneider; parents Patrick and Carol Brickley; siblings, Pat (Dianne) Brickley, Kathy (Harold) Katz, Beth Allen (Jon Vukelich), Mike (Diane) Brickley, Jen (Jason) Revels plus many nieces and nephews.
