Mary Ann (Mayberry) Wood, 90, of Viburnum, MO, formerly of Florissant, MO passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Stonecrest Nursing Home. She was born November 16, 1920 at Goodwater, Missouri to Walter Stephen Mayberry and Ida (Dennis) Mayberry. On February 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Walter Wood who preceded her in death on November 20, 2007.
Mary was a member of the Dunn Road Chapel Church in Florissant, MO.
For a few years, she owned Wood’s Confectionary in St. Louis. In her spare time, she always enjoyed bowling. Most of all she loved being with all of her family and especially her grandchildren. They will miss her wonderful laugh.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Gary Wood and wife Anne of Manchester, MA and Philip Wood of Woodacre, CA; three grandchildren, Daniel and wife Tyler, Geoffrey and Caroline; one brother, Walter Mayberry Jr. and wife Mary of Arnold, MO; and three sisters-in-law, Jo Mayberry of Stillman Valley, IL, Rosella Skaggs of Berryman, MO and Pauline Smith of Steelville, MO; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter; five brothers, Elwin, Melvin, James, Victor and Joy Luke Mayberry; two sisters, Mildred Miller and Alice Reid; brothers-in-law, Claude Skaggs, Emmett Smith, Herman Wood and wife Virginia, Bud Wood, Fred Wood, and Hyle Wood and wife Alice.
