Marta Lourdes Tamargo Locklear, 73, of Woodbine, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Carroll Hospital Center.

   Born Jan 3, 1941 in Havana, Cuba, she was predeceased in death by her parents, Manuel Antonio Tamargo,  Marta Pujals Tamargo, and Manuela Biosca Tamargo Cabrera. She was the wife of Toney Locklear. They had been married for 45 years.

   She became an American citizen in 1978, and had over 20-years of service to the Federal Government.  She retired from the Food & Drug Administration as a computer specialist in 2003. She had emigrated from Cuba on Christmas Eve in 1960. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Libertytown.  She was an involved member of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group at Kernan’s Hospital and at Carroll Hospital Center. She enjoyed traveling, the ocean, dining out and organizing social events.  But her greatest love was her family and her greatest joy was showing off her pictures.  
   In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Yvonne Weed and Robert, Dannette Alpern and Adam, Margaux Jessup and David, sisters Carmen Gonzalez and Miriam Schaeffer, brothers Manuel, Alejandro, Henry and Robert Tamargo, and grandchildren Logan, Patrisha and Dylan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
