Parker (deceased) and is survived by daughters Joyce Dexter and Judith VanderSalm, grandchildren Scott Stevenson and Sarah Matel and Jessica and Jamie VanderSalm, and great grandsons Seward and Teddy Matel. Marjorie Lillian Heckel was born on November 29, 1918, in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in Montclair, NJ. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs School in NYC and worked there until her marriage to George Parker when they moved to Hartford, Connecticut. Shortly thereafter, George joined the U.S. Navy in World War 2 and Marjorie returned to N.J. to spend the war years with her family.
