Marie Mary Rahe, 96, of Steelville, MO passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. She was born on Valentine’s Day, 1912 in Dexter, Missouri to Fred and Etta Mae (Robinson) Henderson. She was united in marriage to William Rahe who preceded her in death.
Marie will be sadly missed by her one son, Edward Terry of Diamond Head, MS; one daughter, Betty Vickers and special friend Bob Mohesky of Steelville, MO; one sister, Myrtle Dodge of Dexter, MO; one sister-in-law, Alberta Henderson of Dexter, MO; eight grandchildren, Terry Vickers and wife Linda, Alan Vickers and wife Jeannie, Susan Dwyer and husband Dennis, Sharon Simpson and husband Bob, Donna Marie Buckley and husband Johnny, Patty Jacobs and husband Roy, Sherry Roberts and husband Sam and Mike Terry and wife Donna; twenty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; dear friend, Edith Love; many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Rahe, four brothers, Howard Henderson, Fred Henderson, Martin Henderson and Shorty Henderson and two sisters, Mildred Henderson and Pauline Pounds.
Marie was a beautician with her own shop for many years in Columbia, IL. In 1976 after retirement, she had moved to Steelville to be close to her daughter, Betty. Marie had became active in the Happy Hour Extension Club for several years and was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. But most of all, she loved being around her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was of the Baptist faith.
