TAUNTON – Maria Encarnacao Lima Macedo, wife of the late Antonio DeCosta Macedo, died at Morton Hospital and Medical Center on Feb. 23, 2010.
She was 91.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Virginia (Lima) Pacheco.
Educated in the Azores, she moved to the U.S. in 1961, and was employed by the former The Taunton Dress Co. for many years, retiring at the age of 67.
A communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, Mrs. Macedo enjoyed traveling, and visited the Azores many times.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Cisaltina Maria Raposo and her husband Duarte Manuel Raposo of Taunton; two granddaughters, Anna Maria Moniz and her husband Durval Sousa Moniz, and Lillian Marie Moniz and her husband Joao Carlos Moniz, all of Taunton; two great granddaughters, Natalie Marie Moniz and Lisa Marie Moniz, both of Taunton; a sister, Diolinda P. Motta of Acushnet; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Manuel Pacheco, Jose Pacheco, and Rosarinha Pacheco Moniz.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Saturday, Feb. 27th at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 26th from 5 to 8 p.m.
