Marguerite A. Van Booven, 87, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.
Marguerite was born in Starkenburg, Missouri on February 5, 1929, a daughter of the late Steve & Florence (Knapp) Van Beek.
She was united in marriage to Melvin S. Van Booven, Sr. on January 11, 1951 at Montgomery City, Missouri. Melvin preceded her in death on August 29, 1996.
Marguerite was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, and of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She worked for Florsheim Shoe Company as a press operator.
Marguerite is survived by five children, Jolinda Sander, of Lenexa, Kansas; Rebecca Van Booven, of St. Louis, Missouri; Daniel Van Booven & wife Shelly, of Portland, Missouri; Thomas Van Booven, of Columbia, Missouri; and Karla Van Booven, of Olathe, Kansas; a sister, Aurea Brohammer, of Wentzville, Missouri, by three grandchildren, Haily Van Booven, Justin Van Booven, and Brianne Crockett, and by three great grandchildren, Logan & Braden Walker and Carson Van Booven.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter Christine, a son Melvin “Butch” Van Booven, Jr., a brother Richard Van Beek, and her dearest friend, Harold Scheidegger.
