Margaret Karoghlian, age 95, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away on June 18, 2022. She was born in 1926 in Durand, Michigan, the daughter of the late Adrianne and Vaughan Gurganian, Armenian immigrants from Turkey who came to this country in search of a better life following the Genocide of Armenians by the Turkish Ottoman Empire . She was the last of five siblings – Alice, Albert, Adeline, George and Margaret. She was the former wife of Edward Karoghlian.
Margaret moved to Detroit with her family as a young child. She developed an interest in cosmetology and became a manicurist. She was the owner of the barber shop in the renowned Sheraton Cadillac Hotel in downtown Detroit. She was a celebrity manicurist who had a phenomenal reputation. Anyone of notoriety who was a Detroit resident or a celebrity who came into town, received a manicure from her. Some of the most notable were Max Fisher, Industrialist, Ross Corbett of Hiram Walker, John F. Kennedy, John Wayne, Donald Sutherland, and many others.
Her family had a deep admiration for her. Even though dementia haunted her in her later years, she enjoyed staying in contact with each family member. She was generous with her love and affection for all.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Dee Lindholm. She was Auntie Margie to Leo, Vaughn, Avah, David, Doug, and Darrin Derderian, Steve, Frenesi, Adele, Darlene, Vaughan, and Robert Gurganian, and Adrianne, Mike, and John Reynolds.
