Margaret I. Scott of Denton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Inns of Evergreen in Denton. She was 93 years old.
Born in Greensboro, MD on October 14, 1924, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of the late John Clarence Ireland and Annie Catherine Greenlee Ireland. Her husband, Edward Lee Scott, died February 5, 1995.
Mrs. Scott had been a homemaker, helping her husband on their dairy farm. She had been a member of Thawley’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Tuckahoe Neck near Denton. She had been living for several years at The Gables in Denton before moving to the Inns of Evergreen last February.
Mrs. Scott is survived by a son, Francis E. Scott (Dianne) of Denton; three daughters: Doris S. Harris of Denton, Joyce S. Warrington (Jeff) of Cambridge, and Shirley S. Dean (Rick) of Hurlock, MD; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John “Judy” Ireland, and three sisters: Helen Hague, Evelyn Bounds, and Mary Calloway; a grandson, Francis Edward Scott, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Frank E. Harris.
