Madeline Elizabeth Simmons Ross, 83 of Jefferson, passed away peacefully, on the evening of Friday, October 17th, at her home with family by her side. Born on March 13, 1931 in Waldoboro, she was the daughter of the late Pearl A. and Ida May (Sprague) Simmons, Sr. Madeline attended school in Waldoboro. Over the years she worked at Fieldcrest Manor, Crowe Rope, Sylvania and Camden Health Care Center. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and was known for her homemade biscuits. As a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, she was sure to watch a game any chance she could. Besides her parents; she was predeceased by her siblings, Lester E. Simmons, Thomas W. Simmons, Sr., Pearl A. Simmons, Jr., Stanley L. Simmons and Dorothy L. Simmons Jackson. Madeline is survived by her children: Deanna Bernier and her companion Norman Giguere of Auburn; Mark Ross, Sr. and his wife Ronner of Warren; Neal Ross, Sr. and his companion Kathy Webber of Bremen; Deborah Severson and her husband Howard “Andy”, Sr. of Waldoboro; Mitchell Ross and his wife Valeta of Waldoboro; Deidre Waisanen and her husband John, II of Auburn; Danny Ross and his wife Lynn of Chelsea; and Timothy Ross and his wife Tina of Jefferson. She is also survived by 5 siblings, Evelyn M. Reed and her late husband Albert of Waldoboro, Wayne W. Simmons and his wife Barbara of Waldoboro, Dianne A. Grenier and her husband Dick of Winslow, Wendell H. “Billy” Simmons of Waldoboro, and Rose M. Hill and her husband Daryl of Warren; as well as 25 grandchildren, Elizabeth Doherty, Rhonda Tilley, Shawn Bernier, Mark Ross Jr., Wayne Ross, Ryan Ross, Amy Ross-Johnson, Lynn Hall, Neal Ross Jr., Montell Ross III, Dwayne Severson, Michael Severson, Howard Severson Jr., Jessica Anderson, Renee Ross, Raquel Goodrich, Reagan George, John Waisanen III, Jarod Waisanen, Monica Nessmith, Kattie Trask, Stephan Ross, Rita Blanc, Dalton Peaslee, and Ely Rideout; and 36 great grandchildren.
