Mabel Irene Walker of Rolla, Missouri passed at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, April 25, 2007. She was 92 years and 17 days of age.

Mabel Irene Walker was born on April 8, 1915 to her parents Edmond and Clara (Lindner) Miller. She was united in marriage to Arvil Walker and to this union one son was born.

Irene was borned and raised in Vichy, where she helped with the farming and was a housewife. After her husband passed away suddenly, Irene then moved to Rolla, Missouri in 1964. Raising her son as a single mother, she did ironing, and worked at the infirmary as a cook at the University of Missouri. Irene accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into Christ and attended the Lords Church, where she attended faithfully until health did not permit her to attend. Irene graciously opened up her home to many people and enjoyed hosting college students for a Sunday meal. Irene was a diligent helper at the clothing room at the church of Christ for many years. Irene loved to do quilting and in later years enjoyed quilting at the Rolla Manor Care Center. Mabel Irene will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Mabel Irene is two Grandsons: Roger Walker and wife Theresa of Rolla, Missouri and James Alan Walker and wife Mary Ann of Belleville, Nebraska; five Great-Grandchildren: Robin Lynn Royal and husband Tim; Reva May Walker; Kevin Alan Walker; Joshua Walker; and Jonathan Walker; and one Great Great-Grandson: Eric Lee Royal and a Daughter-in-Law: Belma Walker of Vichy, Missouri.

Preceding Mabel Irene Walker in death is her parents: Edmond and Clara (Lindner) Miller; her husband: Arvil Walker who passed away February 7, 1963 one son: Dennis A. Walker who entered into rest December 1, 2003; one grandson: Kevin Alan Walker in June 1967; one half-brother: Eugene Nanney in December 1979; one half-sister: Esther Ebenreck in December, 1994.
