Lyna Helen Lamppa, 90, of Virginia and formerly of Embarrass, died on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Lyna was born on December 10, 1923 to Emil and Hulda (Perttu) Niemi of Florenton. She graduated from the Virginia High School in 1942. She was united in marriage to Ernest Lamppa on July 18, 1943 in Virginia. Their first home was in Indianapolis, Indiana where Ernie was stationed. When he was shipped overseas, she moved to Longview, Washington to be near family. Here she worked in the ship yards. Once Ernie was discharged, they moved to Embarrass where they joined in the family business. Lyna worked at Lamppa’s Inc. until it closed. She was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
