LuVerne Knutson passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN at the age of 77.
LuVerne Mae Knutson was born on July 17, 1926 at Radium, MN, the daughter of Gardy and Verna Lenhart. She was raised in the Radium area where she attended country school. On October 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Kinton Knutson at Warren, MN. They made their home in Radium. In 1987, they moved to Warren. Kinton died on June 26, 1993.
She enjoyed doing embroidery and quilting. LuVerne was also active in the Senior Citizen Center’s activities. In the last year, she attended her first Shrine Circus, went camping and took her first pontoon boat ride.
LuVerne was a Gold Star Mother.
Left to mourn her passing are two sons and three daughters; Ronald Knutson of Great Falls, MT, Jerry (Cheryl) Knutson of Grand Rapids, MN, Elaine (Mark) Pederson of Warren, MN, LaVon (Jeff) Lannoye of Thief River Falls, MN and Beverly (Conrad) Kostrzewski of Warren, MN. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren (LuVerne’s “little sweethearts”), three brothers, Lloyd (Violet) Lenhart and Donald (Bernice) Lenhart all of Thief River Falls, MN and Marvin Lenhart of South Carolina, four sisters, Fern Nelson, Arlyne Soiney and Patsy Elliot all of Thief River Falls, MN and Betty (Don) Ballard of Fulton, NY, brother-in-law, Herman (Helen) Knutson of Thief River Falls, MN, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Dale and Carolyn Loeslie, Mike and Hollie Cheney, Tim and Judy Munger and Bea Rehder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kinton, son, Larry, two brothers, Wayne and Dennis and sister, Faye.
