Lucy Mary Fournier (Cavallaro), 86, passed away February 19, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Portland on December 20th, 1929 the 5th child of Savarino and Josephine (Fasulo) Cavallaro. As a young girl she went to work at WT Grants and Woolworths. She was a Portland High School graduate, and one of her favorite activities was being a majorette with her best friend Marie Rozzi. Portland High School is where she met the love of her life, her husband, Tony (Donuts) Fournier. One of her favorite places to work was with Jack and Joe Angelone at Angelone’s Pizza. They were like a second family to her. Later she went to work as a cocktail waitress at the “Top of the East” and the “Hawaiian Hut” where she worked her way up to manager. One of the lessons learned from my Mom was tolerance and respect for all people as we met many different cultures that worked at “The Eastland.” With all her work she still found time for her 3 children, Rick, Ruth Anne and Tony. Later she helped her husband build a Portland institution, “Tony’s Donut Shop.” Pride in her children transitioned to pride in her grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Anthony ,Christine, Christopher, Richard, Candace, Maria and Julia. As her life progressed the focus of her life shifted to helping her family whether it be by helping her older sister, Anna, or babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Rocco, Paul, Kimmie, Andrew, Jayden, Emily, Molly, Ryan, Sophia, Grace and Gianna. She was a constant figure at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was proud of her Italian Heritage where she had many great memories of Federal and Middle Street. Everyday she could be found at her table at Tony’s Donuts with her family and friends. She loved her trips with her husband to Vegas, Atlantic City and Foxwoods and all the great families that traveled with them that made those trips magical. She enjoyed many nights at the Elks club dancing with Tony. After his passing she still loved going there with her close friends Bob and Marie Munson and loved the music of Jose Duddy.

She was predeceased by her mother and father, her sisters Antoinette DiPaolo, Camilla Jensen, Judy Rys and their husbands. Her nieces, Pamela and Betty, and nephew Richard Jensen. She is survived by her sisters Anna Cavallaro, Frank Cavallaro and his wife Donna, Marylou and her husband Ralph Guerra, children Richard and his wife Donna, Ruth Anne and her husband Richard Murray, Tony and his wife Leslie. She is survived by her aforementioned 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and our extended families this beautiful tapestry of Portland weaves.
