Lucille Jeanette Stoltz, age 99, a longtime resident of Virginia died Friday, March 31, 2017 in Essentia Health – Virginia. She was born March 29, 1918 in Duluth, the daughter of Edward H. and Grace J. Sukow and was a 1936 graduate of Duluth Central High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper in Milwaukee and at an Army Camp in Tennessee prior to her marriage to Howard Stoltz on February 1, 1947 in Virginia. Lucille was a member of the First Covenant Church in Virginia, and loved her time spent at the family cabin on Lake Vermilion. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles, traveling, watching Minnesota Twins Games, and was a 35 year member of Virginia Women’s Bowling League.
Lucille is survived by her children: Gary (Ann) Barfknecht of Petoskey, MI, Kathy (Ron) Buhta of Minneapolis, MN, Laurene (Randy) Rebideaux of Reno, NV, and Carolyn (Gary) Pernu of Gilbert, MN; grandchildren: Amy (Dan) Juengst, Heidi (Anthony) Drake, Shannon (Jeremy) Nelson, Brandon (Tracy) Muck, Alicia Rebideaux, and Troy (Felicia) Buhta; great-grandchildren: Anders, Ella, Drew, Dylan, Beau, Ethan, Lucia, Rosa, Vera, Ben, Nick, Tiara, Gavyn, Ty, and Teigan; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Walter Barfknecht; second Husband: Howard Stoltz; two brothers, one sister; infant daughter, Carol; and infant great-grandson, George.
