Lucille Adelaide Morgan, age 96, long time resident of Virginia, Lake Eshquaguma, and Sun City Center, Florida, died Tuesday, August 02, 2016, with family at her side. She was born October 2, 1919, in Superior, WI, the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Moen) Wick. She graduated from Superior High School, and went on to receive her Nursing Degree from St. Luke’s. Lucille was united in marriage to Warren J. Morgan on October 23, 1943, in Waco, TX.

Lucille worked as an RN at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, as a homemaker, and later with her husband as a bookkeeper for Morgan Oil Co. She was a 50-year member and past president of P.E.O., and served on the Hospital Commission in Virginia for several years and as its president for one year.

She enjoyed golfing, sewing, playing Bridge and, especially, socializing with friends and relatives. She and her husband loved entertaining and over the years hosted countless parties wherever they lived and on their houseboat on Lake Vermillion. She was a creative cook always trying new recipes and modifying them according to what she had on hand in her kitchen. Some have joked that she was a ”social butterfly” because she so thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and keeping in contact with long time friends.

Her children took turns caring for her in their homes in her last few years. She would surprise people with her wit and wisecracks, right up to her last few days.

Lucille is survived by her children: Tim (Margaret) Morgan of Britt, MN, Janice (Lance) Cargill of Rockford, IL, Alan Morgan (Ruthann DeWaele Boisvert) of Moline, IL, and Marilyn (Donn) Kunnari of rural Gilbert, MN; a daughter-in-law: Jean Morgan of Minneapolis, MN, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Warren (2006); her twin sister and her husband: Kay (Per) Sheveland; her older sister: Florence Wick; and her granddaughter: Alissa Cargill.
