Lucille Katherine Laney, 84, of Cook Station, Missouri passed away Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri. She was born July 10, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Ralston) Menke. On November 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Jimmie Lane Laney who preceded her in death on February 18, 2005.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Ronald Laney Sr. and wife Barbara of Cuba, Missouri and one daughter, Norma Jean Walls and husband Charles Jr. of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, John H. Menke Jr. and wife Virginia of Cedar Edge, CO; four grandchildren, Ronald Jr. Laney, Sarah Laney and fiance’ Keith Franks, Nicholas Walls and Katherine Walls; one step grand-daughter, Jessica McMillian and fiance’ Zach Brown; two great-grandchildren, Lessa Laney and Jay Laney; other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband, one son, Randall Kevin Laney, one brother James T. Menke and wife Rosemary preceded her in death.
Lucille was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Steelville. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting in her spare time.
