Lucille Alice Grant Zeh, age 97, former resident of Detroit and Warren, Michigan, peacefully passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Plymouth, Michigan. Mrs. Zeh was born June 10, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of John L. and Estelle W. (Young) Grant. In May, 1933, she graduated from Detroit Southeastern High School. In the fall of 1933, she attended Cass Tech enrolled in Cass Tech Business Course. After the completion of her studies, she worked various jobs which led her to her employment with Hudsons Department Store in Detroit working in the Accounts Receivable Department. Alice worked at Hudsons until she married and returned to Hudson after her youngest son reached high school age. She retired from Hudsons in December, 1980, working as a clerical secretary in the Buyer’s Accounts Payable Department. She was united in marriage to Sherwood James Zeh on October 5, 1940 at the Christ Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Sherwood and Alice lived most of their married life in Detroit, moving to Warren, Michigan in the early 1980’s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood in October, 1997 and a brother, Arthur Grant in December, 1988. Surviving are her two sons, Gary G. Zeh and wife Charyl and Daniel S. Zeh and wife Debe’; two grand-daughters, Crystal (Jeff) Koseff and Heather (Darcy) Zeh-Allder; great grand-daughter Julia Koseff.
