Louise A. Stanley, 68, passed away peacefully at the Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta on the afternoon of December 10th following a long and debilitating illness. Born in Damariscotta on June 3, 1942, she was the daughter of Creston G. and Kathlyn N. Bryant of Newcastle. Louise attended local schools and always excelled academically. She graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1960 before attending and graduating from the University of Maine, Orono where she studied to become an elementary school teacher. She became a very devoted 2nd grade teacher in Chillicothe, OH as well as at the Millet School in Gorham, ME. She later took several art classes and produced some amazing drawings and paintings that everyone admired. Her love of art and animals kept her occupied as her health failed. She will always be remembered by friends and family for her kindness, compassion, and loving nature. She belonged to many worthy causes that benefited animals, minorities and was passionate about saving our planet.
