Lorene O. Edler, 84, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Grandview Healthcare Center, Washington, Missouri.
Mrs. Edler was born in New Haven, Missouri on October 15, 1926, the daughter of the late William and Amanda (Hurst) Kreftmeyer.
She attended Lone Grove School and was baptized and confirmed at Beemont Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Eldred O. Edler. They were married September 12, 1948 at St. Peter’s U.C.C., New Haven.
She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven, Missouri, where she was a member of the womens fellowship, the quilters group and taught Sunday school for several years. She also enjoyed doing crafts.
She worked at Langenberg Hat Factory for 26 years.
Lorene is survived by a son Gary Edler & wife Sally of Washington, two grandsons Robert Brown & wife Barb of New Haven and Brian Edler of Washington, by a granddaughter Sarah Edler of Washington and a great-granddaughter Allison Brown of New Haven, two brothers Marvin Kreftmeyer of Stony Hill and Merlin Kreftmeyer & wife Jocelyn of Hermann and a sister Rose Marie Schaefferkoetter & husband Herbert of Gerald.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Karen M. Brown, by six brothers Roscoe, Earl, Paul, Oswald, Eugene & Oscar and by three sisters Elsie Shoemaker, Olga Gawer and Alberta Pehle.
