Auburn – Lois Pendleton, 81, of Auburn formerly of Phippsburg, died on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Auburn Assisted Living Center.
Lois was born in Phippsburg on April 18, 1928, the daughter of Willard & Addy Pinkham Atwood. She attended school at Winnegance Elementary and continued at Morse High.
On June 28, 1947 she married Dana M. Pendleton who passed away on November 11, 1981.
She was a loving wife and mother and most of her life she was contented being a housewife but for a short time did work as a seamstress at congress Sportswear in Bath.
Lois fully enjoyed nature and especially gardening but also loved animals and was the mistress of many cats throughout her life. Infact she once said that she was the “Cat Woman” of Phippsburg.
She is predeceased by her husband Dana, 3 Brothers, Gilbert Atwood, Willard Atwood and Robert Atwood; 4 Sisters, Evelyn Proctor, Edith Atwood, Bertha Rideout and Bernadine Legaye.
Lois is survived by her daughter Vera Danish and her husband Neil Danish of Brunswick and two grandchildren Jonathan Danish and Nina Ruedemann also of Brunswick.
The family has expressed that any one who wishes to make a donation may do so in Lois’s name to the Coastal Humane Society, Range Road, Brunswick.
