Lloyd E. Johnson, age 87, of Duluth and formerly a longtime resident of Hibbing, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, in his residence with family at his side. He was born June 14, 1926, in Hibbing the son of Carl and Clara (Rice) Johnson. He graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to attend Northwestern Vocational in Minneapolis for Television Repair. He was united in marriage to Elaine Johnson on September 13, 1948, in Minneapolis.
Lloyd was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, the Sons of Norway Midnatsolen Lodge #058, the Good Sam’s Club, the ROMEO club, and the Sr. Citizen’s center at the Memorial Building in Hibbing. He enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator, volunteering at the Greyhound Bus center, woodcarving, camping and fishing.
Lloyd is survived by his children: Mark E. (Jody) Johnson of Duluth, and Linda A. (Clair) Logan of Becker, MN; six grandchildren: Jolene, Kate, Eric, Ethan, Crystal, and Scott; and nine great-grandchildren: Taylor, Curtis, Jacob, Joseph, Melissa, Aurora, Jonny, Megan, and Jeffrey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Elaine; brothers: Chester and Victor; and sister: Elaine.
